Merry Christmas

Dr Dork likes this picture so much, he has decided to share it again.

Dr Dork would also like to apologise for inflicting his musical tastes upon his audience.

Merry Christmas.

Peace, and goodwill, to all.

Merry Christmas to you, too.

Thanks for your comments on my blog. I really appreciate my consultants, and I use them whenever I need them. Thank goodness they're there for my patients.

In a university setting, though, the converse is not true--my consultants are not grateful for me. (In the private sector, of course, it's different--I'm their bread and butter and we all know it.) There is this general sense that people go into family medicine because they're too dumb to do anything else.

I have a "niche" brain, myself, and I considered many subspecialties for that reason. Eventually, however, my ...uh, I don't know what to call it... won out and I decided to go where "my greatest gifts met the world's greatest need." And here I am, a family doctor. Yes, you're right--it's impossible to keep up. Not 'cause I'm dumb, though. =)

I'll keep visiting you. Thanks for blogging!

Merry Christmas to you Dr Dork. Hope you are having a Barbie for Christmas dinner!

I like that picture too. It reminds of youthful Christmases spent at the beach in Sydney. As a tranplanted Australian, I have spent the past 45 Christmases indoors, in Canada.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Thanks, all, and many happy returns.

It's already Boxing Day arvo here in Oz.

Dr Dorks gastrointestinal tract is suggesting perhaps that last meringue was one too many...

It's not "inflicting" Nick Cave on us. It's pure pleasure to hear him. His covers of Leonard Cohen songs brought him to my ears.

Happy Boxing Day, Dr. Dork. What on earth is "arvo"?

I watched Bad Santa, as you suggested. Hilarious and so, so wrong.

Love the picture - although I do hope Mr. Claus was using sunscreen - don't Aussie's have the highest rate of skin cancer? ;P

John,
Very similar to Cohen vocally and in terms of gloominess!
Sheila,
Glad you saw it - very funny, very wrong, purportedly Billy Bob Thornton was actually drunk throughout the filming. That's method acting for you.

Arvo=afternoon.

AL,
We certainly do! Santa should slip/slop/slap, indeed...
(reference to Oz sunprotection campaign)
Slip on shirt
Slop on sunscreen
Slap on a hat

I think I've got that right....

Kind regards
Dork
