Blogger Bug

Dr Dork has encountered a lot of problems over the latter part of this week with accessing many of the multitude of blogs he endeavours to keep up with.

Some sites would simply not load, others seemed mainly to have problems with the comments.

Dr Dork apologises for any inconvience to his readers. Whatever the problem, it seems to have been rectified now by the good people at Blogger.

Like many Dr Dork is appreciative of the Blogger service. It is free, it is not encumbered by garish advertising, and it is fairly easy to use, even for us technical dummkopfs.

It is a bit temperamental at times, but you get what you pay for.

Get well soon, Blogger.

I adore the picture of the sick rabbit! Too adorable! (I hope he feels better real soon....)

I tried my best to make a donation to the Taronga Zoo but the site for making credit card donations was (is)
down (seriously). I will try again--if I continue to be unsuccessful is their a charity (NGO) is your area that specializes in maxillofacial surgery for youth with severe problems (once again seriously. I do thoroughly enjoy your blog. I am the head of a fairly large Mental health organization in the US and have spent some time with the "black dog" myself--and I don't mean Nemo our wonderful poodle/terrier mix. Thanks

oh my gosh, i love it. (poor bunny)

yeah, New Blogger is a pain, since i switched your comments at my Blog show as "anon" with no accompanying profile photo, and one cannot click on anon to get transferred to your Blog. poop. i think you have to visit again and sign in or something.

anyway, come over and have a look at the fab photos of Inuit sculptures there. (FLAMINGO'S HIDEAWAY, by the way, not the other that appears erroneously at the top of the list.

cheers for now,
pj

Even with the frequent frustrations, it amazes me that all this stuff is free and quite usable. Professional, even. Between Blogger and Google images, even I can produce a respectable (looking) blog. It's really quite something!

I must say that in the case of Blogger, I get way more than what I pay for.

PS: I like your old pic better. There is some comfort in familiarity.

Your comments about Blogger hit the nail on the head. It's really a pretty good service, but it is frustrating when it goes down.

Now I have to go look up what perspicacious means. Thanks for the well wishes on my blogiversary.

I've actually been having lots of problems with blogger, I think because I ahve not yet converted my template. It's been so bad that I've been toying with the idea of moving to typepad or some other paid blogging platform...But you are right - for something that;s free, I really can't complain.

Dr Deb,
Sorry to hear that - I wasn't sure if people were having probs with connecting here but I was getting stonewalled at several.

Hi Boheme,
Rabbits are cute, but taste a bit too gamey for my liking.
My little sister had a pet rabbit when we were growing up. It thought it was a dog. Including courting the (female) kelpie seceral times his size.

Frank,
Very nice of you! Might I suggest BeyondBlue?

Thanks all for the thoughts on the platform - I'm not sure if the others - wordpress, typepad etc are any better or worse in terms of occasional hiccoughs.

Mind you, I do periodically save copies of my blog into local memory...I'm expecting the whole thing to go at least temporarily knees-up at some point.

Kind regards
Dork
